Situated between the Thames Estuary and the Straights of Dover, the borderland county of Kent is home to tidal salt marshes, high chalk downs, riverside meadows, and ancient woodlands, as well as the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral and the iconic white cliffs of Dover. The 40 walks in this guide cater for all abilities and make good use of Kent's many footpaths and long-distance trails to explore this wonderful corner of England. Each walk entry begins with at-a-glance details of distance, time, terrain, parking, and public transport access where available. Clear route-finding instructions are provided together with simple overview coloured sketch maps, but OS Explorer map sheet numbers are also provided. The text also includes brief notes on features of interest along the way and there are colour photographs throughout.
