Walking to Snowdonia's Remote Lakes Guidebook

Tucked away from view, the routes to these lakes are rarely walked. Many are found high in the mountains and some need determination to reach them. A few can be found quite close to a road but are hidden from view, with people just driving by. There are great views on all of these walks. In many cases tracks or paths are followed at the start but often quickly disappear. Because of this some navigational expertise is often required, as well as a good sense of direction.

Some of the walks are linear due to there being no suitable route to create one that is circular. Because of the nature of these walks the author advises taking a map and compass, or GPS. The following Ordnance Survey Explorer sheets cover the walks in this book: OL17, OL18 and OL23. For each walk the book gives a summary description and instruction how to get to the start. This is followed by clear route finding instructions in numbered paragraphs plus a sketch map showing the paragraph numbers.
