Walk this Wye

Walk this Wye

by: Wye Valley AONB
Dappled wooded glades, eye-stretching views, ancient ruins, towering cliffs and gentle river meadows all hold the key to the lure of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is the combination of the dramatic and the peaceful which makes this 92km stretch an exceptional area for walking. The Wye Valley is rewarding at any time of year. In spring you will find woods carpeted with bluebells, wild garlic and wood anemones. During summer the meadows come alive with wild flowers. Autumn sees trees bursting into red and gold, while the crisp cold if winter brings crystal clear views.

This booklet provides information about the AONB, tourist information including details of public transport availability and details of interesting places to visit. There are 12 walks described from easy strolls to longer walks of up to 10 miles. Public transport information to get to the start points is provided. Route finding instructions are clear and supported by coloured Ordnance Survey Explorer mapping. There are also colour photographs illustrating the beauty of the Wye Valley.
