Walking Close to Henley-on-Thames Guidebook

Walking Close to Henley-on-Thames Guidebook

by Clive Brown
One of a range of 'no frills' local walking guide booklets which admirably achieve their objective of getting you out in the countryside amongst beautiful scenery on carefully chosen routes full of interest. The directions are clear and precise and the pencil drawn sketch maps are particularly attractive as well as practical.

This guide describes eleven varied and interesting circular walks in the countryside around Henley-on-Thames where Oxfordshire meets Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. The walks are between 3 and 10.5 miles in length, but most are between 4 and 7 miles. Henley-on-Thames is synonymous with the annual Oxford and Cambridge rowing boat race held on the Thames from Hambleden Lock to Henley Bridge. Henley Royal Regatta is held over five days on the first weekend in July.

The walk locations are:

Rotherfield Peppard and Henley-on-Thames - 7.5 miles
Rotherfield Peppard and Gallowstree Common - 6.25 miles
Stonor Park, Maidensgrove and Turville Heath - 6 miles
