Walking the Two Moors Way Cicerone Guidebook

Walking the Two Moors Way Cicerone Guidebook

by: Sue Viccars
This book describes a long distance route across Devon from the south coast at Wembury Bay to the north coast at Lynmouth. Known as Devon's Coast to Coast route it combines the well-established Two Moors Way (between Ivybridge and Lynmouth) with the Erme-Plym Trail starting at Wembury in the South Devon AONB.
The route crosses two of south-west England's magnificent moorlands, Dartmoor and Exmoor, and gives you the chance to experience all that this rural county has to offer as it passes over peaceful rolling hills, through wooded combes and picturesque villages, starting and ending on the beautiful Devon coast.

The total distance is 116 miles and is described as a one week trek, with suggestions for alternative more leisurely schedules. The route is described in the book in eleven section chapters. It is full of information, including details of services available along the route and is packed with notes about the area's history, ecology and geology. Each stage chapter begins with a fact-file including start and finish grid references, distance, time, terrain details, refreshment facilities, and public transport. The clear route finding instructions are supported by Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 map extracts. The book is also full of excellent colour photographs.
