Waterside Walking in the Peak District contains 30 great family circular walks around the Derbyshire Peak District, centred on rivers, reservoirs, and canals. The walks provide a fascinating insight into how the various water features operate and evolve, combined with stunning scenery and interesting landmarks. The walks visit all the major water features in the Peak District, organised into five areas, with clear instructions on travel as well as on the walk route itself. Most of the walks are about five miles in length.

The book includes information about key aspects of how rivers (with mills, weirs, and underground caverns) shape the landscape, how the canals were built and supplied with water, and how our drinking water reservoirs are managed. Each walk begins with a brief overview paragraph and an essential information panel giving distance and climb, grading, OS Explorer map sheet number and instructions on getting to the start. Detailed route-finding instructions follow supported by a sketch map. The text includes information on places of interest and there are black and white photographs and diagrams.
