Lindsey Loop

Lindsey Loop Walking Guidebook

Lindsey Loop Walking Guidebook

by: Brett Collier
The Lindsey Loop is a 105 mile walk through the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The guidebook organises the route into eight stages with an alternative route ending. The walk visits six small market towns, each of which has a part in our Island's history. The route also includes many obscure villages both undiscovered and unspoilt as well as a sixty-foot wide Roman Road. There is a choice of two final sections; one takes you back to Louth from Donington on Bain, the other returns you to Market Rasen. Above all the walk passes through the lovely rolling countryside of the Lincolnshire Wolds.

This new fully updated edition of the guide provides very detailed route finding instructions supported by clear well-drawn sketch maps. Each section in the guide begins with practical information comprising a terrain summary, distance, time, start and finishing locations with grid references, OS map sheet numbers, how to get there, parking, accommodation and food. Additional background information is included describing many places visited along the way. A detailed mileage chart is also included.

The eight stages are as follows:
Market Rasen to Caistor - 11.5 miles
Caistor to East Ravendale - 12 miles
East Ravendale to Louth - 13.5 miles
Louth to Alford - 16.5 miles
Alford to Spilsby - 9.5 miles
Spilsby to Horncastle - 14 miles
Horncastle to Donnington on Bain - 15 miles
Donington on Bain to Louth - 13 miles
Alternative final section
Donnington on Bain to Market Rasen - 11 miles
