50 Yorkshire Walks for All Guidebook

50 Yorkshire Walks for All Guidebook

by: Paul Hannon
This book describes fifty classic strolls from between 2 and 3 miles in length, allowing everyone to experience Yorkshire's landmarks in bite-sized walks.

Sandwiched between the high Pennine backbone and the dramatic North Sea coast, England's greatest county boasts an incomparable range of iconic features, set within such diverse regions as the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, South Pennines and the Yorkshire Wolds.

The strolls featured lead you through stunning landscapes to explore Aysgarth Falls, Robin Hood's Bay, Malham Cove, Howarth, Rievaulx Abbey, Ilkley Moor, Richmond Castle, Standedge Tunnel, Brimham Rocks, the White Horse of Kilburn, Ribblehead Viaduct, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Whitby, Studley Royal, Goathland and York.

Discover where the Bronte sisters found inspiration, where Captain Cook began his adventures, and our longest canal tunnel; revisit Brideshead, and tramp the moor where you shouldn't go hatless.

The book has a short introduction and an area map showing the walk locations. Each of the walks begins with practical information giving distance, start location with grid reference and post code and the relevant OS Explorer map sheet number. A small outline route map is shown alongside this information. Each walk is presented on a two page spread which includes comprehensive route-finding instructions and two colour photographs of features along the way.
