Carmarthenshire 40 Favourite Walks Pocket Guidebook

Carmarthenshire 40 Favourite Walks Pocket Guidebook

author: Julian Rollins
Carmarthenshire is the largest of the old Welsh counties and nestles between Pembrokeshire and the Gower Peninsula in the heart of South-West Wales. It's a land of contrasts, along the coast you'll walk close to the airy edge of tall cliffs but there are beaches too, some so long you can't see and end to them. There are also sheltered estuaries, like the 'heron priested shore' at Laugharne that inspired the poet, Dylan Thomas.

Inland there are tucked-away valleys and castle-topped hills, open moorland and ancient woodland that is fizzing with life.

Each walk entry begins with at-a-glance details of distance, time, terrain, parking, and public transport access where available. Clear route-finding instructions are provided together with simple overview coloured sketch maps, but OS Explorer map sheet numbers are also provided. The text also includes brief notes on features of interest along the way and there are colour photographs throughout.

The walks are arranged into five geographical sections: Tywi Valley, North, East, South, and West.
