If you want to escape and unwind, Northumberland is the place to do it and this book describes 30 circular walks covering the whole of Northumberland north to south and east to west. The routes are aimed at people of all walking abilities and preferences with lengths ranging from 3 miles to 11 miles and difficulty ranging from easy to strenuous. Many of the longer walks have shorter versions and altogether the different variations and combinations make 47 routes.

The walks range from the fabulous Northumberland Coast to the Cheviot Hills, Kielder Forest, the North Pennines, Hadrian's Wall and the areas in between. Some of the walks are Northumberland classics but many are new and are seldom, if at all, reported. Helpful planning information, clear easy-to-follow route descriptions and sketch maps are included. Entries begin with a box giving distance, difficulty, start location with grid reference, parking, OS map sheet number, and refreshment options. There are numerous black and white photographs.
