Great Walks from the Heart of Wales Railway

Great Walks from the Heart of Wales Railway

by: David Perrott and Les Lumsdon
The Heart of Wales Railway links Shrewsbury to Swansea and, on the way, passes through some of Wales' most stunning scenery. As well as being a spectacular journey the line provides access to splendid walking country, and gives you the opportunity to reach the start of each route without the use of a car. From Shrewsbury in the north to the line's southern terminus at Swansea these walks provide a wide range of opportunities, ranging from town and riverside explorations to more adventurous excursions into the mountains.

This book describes 20 walks ranging from a 2.5 miles to 8 miles all beginning at a railway station. Some walks are linear from one station to the next. Each walk entry begins with a short overview description giving an indication of difficulty and features plus the starting point including grid reference. Detailed route finding instructions follow in numbered paragraphs relating to numbered points on an associated sketch map.
