London City Walks Pathfinder Guidebook

London City Walks Pathfinder Guidebook

by: Andy Rashleigh
This Pathfinder guide book contains 15 fun and entertaining walks exploring London. These routes take in the well-known sights such as Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square and the Tower of London, but deliberately encourage you away from the well-beaten tourist track in seeking out some of the people, places and events that have shaped more than two millennia of the capital's extraordinary history.

See where Pepys watched the Great Fire, find the site of London's first coffee house and walk in the footsteps of highwaymen. Visit the house where both Handel and Hendrix resided, contemplate England's earliest rockery in the Chelsea Physic Garden and encounter a 'bull in a china shop.' There are intriguing tales of events and personalities that have shaped London woven throughout the walks in this book.

The author is a local Blue Badge London tour guide, so he knows all the most interesting routes around the city. Each of the walk chapters begins with a summary of its features together with start and finish locations and distance. There are navigation instructions and clear coloured maps plus lots of information about everything of interest along the way. Most of the walks are between 1 and 2 miles in length.
