Peak District Mysterious Walks Top 10 Walks Guidebook

Peak District Mysterious Walks Top 10 Walks Guidebook

author: David Dunford
Curating curiosities in the Peak District is contagious. William Camden listed 'wonders three and beauties three' in the High Peak as early as 1586. Thomas Hobbes compiled 'The Wonders of the Peak' in 1636 and Charles Cotton, of 'Complete Angler' fame published his version 50 years later. This contribution to the genre is likewise intended to inspire and inform exploration of the Peak's mysteries. Each walk visits at least one curiosity, and often more, and includes details of a nearby source of refreshment.

This little pocket guide is produced in full colour with an emphasis on stunning professional photography. Each route has clear easy-to-follow numbered instructions and full colour OS Explorer 1:25,000 mapping. At the beginning of each walk chapter there is a box giving all the practical information you require, such as distance, a time estimate, start location with grid reference and OS map sheet number. A summary of each walk is also provided. All the walks are circular.
