Peak District Walks to Viewpoints Top 10

Peak District Walks to Viewpoints Top 10

by: Chiz Dakin
What makes one view more pleasing to the eye than another is always a matter of personal preference, but as a walker, typically some form of effort will have been required to attain it. And then the fabulous view becomes the just reward. There is variety though; from windswept gritstone edges to deep limestone ravines, hidden viewpoints once lost to walkers to wide open moorland plateaus. These ten walks are selected for their variety of scenery, but all have commanding viewpoints over the surrounding terrain.

This little pocket guide is produced in full colour with an emphasis on stunning professional photography. Each route has clear easy-to-follow numbered instructions and full colour OS Explorer 1:25,000 mapping. At the beginning of each walk chapter there is a box giving all the practical information you require, such as distance, a time estimate, start location with grid reference and OS map sheet number. A summary of each walk is also provided. All the walks are circular. There are also fascinating facts about places along the way.

The walk locations are:
Monsal Head - 3 miles
High Wheeldon from Longnor - 4 miles
Hen Cloud - 4.5 miles
Lose Hill - 6 miles
