This guidebook, one of the Batsford's Walking Guides, contains twenty walks around one of the most beautiful areas of Britain, exploring quintessentially English villages, rolling hills and spectacular woodlands and valleys. Nearly all the walks are circular, many with optional shortcuts and extensions, making them suitable for all the family. The routes are easy to follow, with clear directions accompanied by simple maps.

Each walk chapter begins with a summary paragraph outlining the main features. Practical information that follows includes distance, time, difficulty, start and parking instructions including grid reference and nearest postcode, how to get there, refreshments and any local attractions.
