Valley and Mountain Lakes of Mid and North West Wales

This book has walks from the Carneddau in the north of Snowdonia all the way down to Llyn Clywedog near Llanidloes, just beyond the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. Some lake names will be familiar to regular walkers but some may just conjure up the feeling of 'well, where the heck is that one'. Some of the walks are ideally suited for taking along a picnic with you; Llyn Mair and Llyn Clywedog are examples.

On many of these walks you will probably never meet another walker. Only the sheep will be your companions. Oh, and the odd bird, rabbit, hare, fox or deer will be watching your every move. Even much rarer animals can be seen, such as otters and pine martens.

Each walk entry begins with a panel giving a brief description of the walk, including distance, the starting point and directions to get there. The detailed navigation instructions which follow are written in numbered paragraphs and are accompanied by a sketch map showing the paragraph numbers. There is a summary table of all the 24 walks giving distance, time, grade, the start-point grid reference, and brief remarks.
